Maria Isabel Pita: Virginia; I was born in Havana, Cuba but my family left there when I was ten months old and so I grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. Reading, writing and history, especially ancient Egypt, have been my passions ever since I can remember. I'm a writer, primarily of novels and short stories, and a self-taught Egyptologist, my specialty being Hatshepsut and the 18th Dynasty.
